Elite Core Audio PM 16 Personal Monitor Mixing System
Elite Core Audio is owned and operated by industry veterans Randy McFarland and Chris Ward from Fort Smith, Arkansas. Elite Core manufactures and distributes high quality snakes, cables, installation hardware, and the new Elite Core Audio PM-16 from a 25,000 sf warehouse located in the geographical center of the USA. With over 300 dealers, the Elite Core products are available from online stores, retail storefronts, and sound contractors. Elite Core partnered with Pivitec to design and bring to market the new PM-16 system.
Dan Garrett and Tom Knesel (both former Aviom top guns) are the primary players on the Pivitec team. In addition, Alan Smith (his name is on many of the Aviom patented designs) does engineering work for Pivitec, and his hand was instrumental in the development of the PM-16 system.
The basic concept behind Aviom is very solid, but the delivery left many wanting more. For the past ten years, the Aviom system has been the only system widely available for personal mixing. It became the default system for many, simply because there was nothing else like it on the market. Many users found it lacking in many ways. Users wanted more volume, more body, more ambience, more easy controls, more ruggedness, and more flexibility. Elite Core provided "more" with the PM-16 system. The first reviews have been staggering, with many claiming that there is soon to be a new "standard" in personal mixing.
-MORE quality sound with the development of a POWERFUL headphone amp with tons of headroom and a brilliant, dynamic sound.
-MORE ability to control the listening experience with a built in compressor, local ambient mic, and three band graphic EQ.
-MORE intuitive control. The idea is that anyone can operate the mixer on the first attempt with no instructions. 16 volume, 16 pan, and 16 signal present lights make for a simple mixing experience.
-MORE life. The all steel USA construction is road-tough and ready for the rigors of touring. Neutrik soft touch knobs, handles that protect the front face, and Ethercon connectors provide strength. No blue plastic is used.
-MORE affordable. Since Elite Core Audio manufactures and distributes over 400 SKUs, there is no need to inflate the price of the PM-16 system to pay for all company overhead. The pricing is sensible.
- MORE flexibility. The PM-16 will work very well with Shure PSM900/1000 or Sennheiser or AT wireless systems (without the addition of external setups). Also, since the PM-16 is based on a standard ethernet protocol, the system will play well with many other items on the market.
